Laura Neese is a person entering her third decade. A dance artist, an educator, a traveling toe tapper. A subway guru and ferry frequenter. She went to school, she worked in schools, she came back to school (she’s an MFA Student at The Ohio State University), but wonders if anyone can ever really know very much at all. She’s from Staten Island in New York City – the borough you’ve maybe never been to – where people don’t tend to do things like become modern dancers. She helps people grow vocabularies for self-expression through cultivating their curiosities. In movement, words, art, whatever. Or hopes she does. She doesn’t build muscle easily. Her heritage is a mix of Brooklyn and Protestant Work Ethic and Catholic Guilt Complex. She likes peanut butter and seven-layer cookies.
